Approaches

Psychodynamic Therapy

This approach explores unconscious patterns, past experiences, and relationships that influence present behavior. Dr. Fuks applies psychodynamic therapy to help clients gain deeper self-awareness and resolve underlying emotional conflicts, often for those grappling with long-standing interpersonal challenges or self-esteem issues.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT focuses on strengthening emotional bonds and improving communication, particularly in relationships. Dr. Fuks uses EFT to work with couples and individuals struggling with relational distress, fostering secure attachments and healthier emotional connections.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT identifies and reframes negative thought patterns that contribute to emotional and behavioral challenges. Dr. Fuks integrates CBT to help clients with anxiety, depression, and stress-related disorders develop practical strategies to manage their symptoms and improve daily functioning.

Cognitive-Processing Therapy (CPT)

CPT is a specialized form of CBT designed to address trauma by challenging and modifying unhelpful beliefs related to the traumatic event. Dr. Fuks applies CPT with clients experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or trauma-related symptoms, guiding them toward recovery and healing.

Mindfulness
Mindfulness practices promote present-moment awareness and emotional regulation. Dr. Fuks incorporates mindfulness techniques to support clients dealing with stress, anxiety, trauma, and burnout, helping them cultivate resilience and inner calm.

Feminist Therapy

This approach examines the impact of societal, cultural, and gender-based factors on mental health. Dr. Fuks uses feminist therapy to empower clients, particularly those facing issues related to gender identity, power dynamics, or systemic oppression, ensuring a validating and affirming therapeutic environment.

2SLGBTQ+ Affirmative Therapy

This modality affirms and supports the unique experiences of 2SLGBTQ+ individuals. Dr. Fuks integrates this approach to provide a safe, validating space for clients navigating issues related to identity, discrimination, and relationship dynamics.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS explores the multiple “parts” of a person’s psyche, helping clients address internal conflicts and achieve harmony within themselves. Dr. Fuks employs IFS to assist individuals struggling with self-criticism, unresolved trauma, or emotional fragmentation.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT helps clients develop psychological flexibility by embracing difficult emotions while staying committed to personal values. Dr. Fuks applies ACT to support clients with anxiety, depression, or life transitions, fostering growth and acceptance.

Trauma-Informed/Focused Therapy
This approach emphasizes safety, empowerment, and understanding the impact of trauma (including PTSD and CPTSD) on mental health. Dr. Fuks uses trauma-informed practices with individuals who have experienced abuse, violence, developmental trauma, parental neglect, or other traumatic events, creating a supportive space for healing and recovery.

Attachment-Based Therapy

Attachment-based therapy focuses on understanding and addressing the impact of early attachment experiences on current relationships and emotional well-being. Dr. Fuks uses this approach to help clients build secure, fulfilling connections, often working with couples or individuals experiencing relational difficulties or unresolved emotional wounds.

Each modality is applied thoughtfully and collaboratively, tailored to the unique needs and goals of the client to foster meaningful, lasting change.
